Preserving flowers is a careful, multi‑stage process. This page is here to provide clarity and transparency around how your order moves from enquiry through to completion. Every piece is handled with care, patience, and respect. Quality will always come before speed.
The current estimated turnaround time for new bookings is up to 6 months, starting from the date your flowers are received.
Some pieces move through the stages more quickly than others depending on:
Every order has its own process and its own timing. Rushing any stage can compromise the final result, so time is always allowed for each step to be completed properly.
For full transparency, Orders are worked on in the order they are received. Once your flowers arrive, they are placed into drying on a first‑come, first‑served basis.
I work with a wide range of moulds in different shapes and sizes, including multiples of many designs. This means that when space allows, some orders may move into resin stages while others are curing, depending on mould availability. This helps maintain an efficient workflow while still respecting the order queue.
1. Enquiry & Booking
Get in touch and we’ll discuss the type of flower preservation piece or pieces you’d like to order. I’ll then take your name, contact details, and delivery address to complete a confirmation order form.
A 50% deposit is required at this stage to secure your place. A payment link will be created and sent to you.
Please note: your space is not secured until the deposit has been received.
Flowers sent without a deposit will not be worked on, and no preservation process will begin until the deposit has been paid.
2. Sending Your Flowers
Once your deposit is received, you’ll be sent full guidance on how and when to send your flowers safely. This includes:
Please do not send flowers without prior arrangement & Please include a note inside the parcel with your name and a list of the items ordered.
3. Flower Receipt & Drying
Once your flowers arrive, I’ll take photos and videos and send these to you so you’re aware of the condition they arrived in. Your flowers are then carefully checked and placed into the drying process. This stage is essential and cannot be rushed.
4. Design & Resin Stages
Your flowers are arranged ready for preservation. I will ask if you have any specific design preferences, or if you’re happy for me to arrange them naturally. The piece is then preserved through multiple resin pours, with curing time required between each stage.
5. Sanding, Top Coating & Finishing
Once fully cured, your piece is sanded, washed, and given a final top coat of resin. It is then carefully refined and checked to ensure a clean, finished result.
6. Final Payment & Return to you
Once your piece is complete, the remaining balance is due. Please note that failure to complete final payment will delay shipping.
Once payment is received, your finished keepsake is securely packaged and sent back to you.
While it’s completely natural to want regular updates, there will be periods, particularly during drying and curing where there is little visible progress. This is a normal and essential part of the process. If you haven’t heard from me, it simply means there is no update to share at that stage. You’re always welcome to get in touch if you need reassurance or have any questions. Every message is read and responded to with care.
Please kindly understand that Resin8 by Lou is a one‑woman business, and responses may not always be immediate — thank you for your patience and understanding.
